Because self-care matters........

As we move through mid-life, looking after ourselves can sometimes take a back seat.

We may be juggling work, family, relationships, changing bodies and changing priorities, while trying to navigate the physical and emotional changes that can come with (peri)menopause.

For me, self-care is an important part of wellbeing. It doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming. Sometimes it's simply about making a few minutes in the day for yourself and enjoying a small ritual that makes you feel good.

That's one of the reasons I've decided to introduce Tropic Skincare as part of the wider WhitesideWellbeing approach.

Why Tropic?

I've personally been using Tropic since my early 40s, I've been using and enjoying the products for many years.

I'm also regularly complimented on my skin, and I've often found myself talking to people about the products I use and why I like them. That made me realise that introducing Tropic through WhitesideWellbeing could be a natural extension of something I already believe in and use myself.

Most importantly, I trust the brand enough to be happy to share it with you.

Skin and mid-life

Our skin can change as we move through our 40's and beyond. Hormonal changes associated with (peri)menopause can affect the skin, and many women notice that their skin becomes drier, more sensitive or simply feels different from how it used to.

This can be frustrating when products that have worked well for years suddenly don't seem to suit us in quite the same way.

As someone who works with women in mid-life, I'm very aware that these physical changes can be another part of the wider experience of this stage of life.

I believe Tropic offers a lovely range of skincare options that can help you adapt your skincare routine as your skin changes — including products suitable for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin, as well as a range specifically focused on menopausal skin.

How does this fit with WhitesideWellbeing?

WhitesideWellbeing is about looking at you as a whole person.

My work encompasses counselling, coaching, menopause information and wellbeing, and I want self-care to be part of that conversation too.

I'm not suggesting that skincare is a solution to the challenges of mid-life or menopause. Rather, it's one small way of prioritising yourself and creating moments of care within everyday life.

For me, skincare is not about looking perfect or trying to turn back the clock. It's about caring for the skin you're in, enjoying a little time for yourself and finding things that help you feel comfortable and confident as you move through mid-life.

And that's why Tropic feels like such a natural fit with WhitesideWellbeing.
